Sony Sucks

It’s amazing companies can be so stupid in a connected world…

Wired News: Boycott Sony: After weeks of criticism, Sony has finally agreed to temporarily stand down on an abusive and likely illegal copy restriction practice. Hold the applause. On Friday, the world’s second-biggest record label pledged to temporarily stop making CDs that leave computers vulnerable to security breaches. This is a step in the right direction, but it does not go nearly far enough toward correcting a serious ethical lapse. In fact, it is proof positive that Sony is unworthy of our trust or our business.

…as with many good businesses gone bad, this is the result of a last-ditch effort to hang on to an antiquated business model instead of getting ahead of the curve to grab hold of what’s next. Sigh.

In this day where identity theft is rampant, an individual’s privacy should be of the utmost importance. For Sony to make CD’s that leave computers vulnerable to security breaches is unethical and should not patronize a business that supports this unethical practice.

Michael, its crazy what they have done. It’s the worst business branding I have seen in some time. I do find it funny that the mainstream media has not brought it up that much on the news…

Kind of like if something happens to disney, stays off the news.

Anywase check out this post on it:

Michael, do you really think that Sony is that Lathargic and oblivious to the market trends?  Couldn’t it be that they are just buying their time and really looking at the best place to jump on the “trends train?”
