High-end retailer targeting the affluent consumer? Having a web site that works (response, not image-driven) is more important than ever. From DM News by way of MarketingVOX:

DM News reports that a new Packaged Facts study found a very large correlation between people’s wealth and their likelihood to use the Internet. 42 percent of affluent individuals polled last spring said they used the net as their primary information source, compared to 32 percent of people of all wealth levels. The wealthy were also more likely to shop online. Half of affluent respondents said they used the internet to shop in the last year, where only 34 percent of the everyone said the same.
